Cubusan

The Cubusan air purifier from WINTERSTEIGER is based on the innovative Sterex plasma technology and was especially developed for indoor air disinfection. The atmospheric low-pressure plasma neutralizes 99.9 percent of viruses and bacteria in the air, reducing the risk of infection to a minimum. While conventional air purifiers recirculate all the indoor air first in order to then gradually remove germs via filtration, the Cubusan air purifier eliminates the harmful particles directly at source – where they enter the air as aerosols. The system therefore ensures a sustained reduction in infections.
The conditions: To ensure maximum removal of germs, the Cubusan air purifiers should be activated around an hour before a room is used. This is the only way to fully disinfect an area of 70 to 120 m3 in advance and maintain the level of purity while several people are present.
Good to know: The Cubusan air purifier is extremely quiet, requires no maintenance or upkeep, and works without ozone or UV-C treatment.
There are two versions, the CP-120 and CP-70 based on room size, and available in either white or black

Clinical study proves: Sterex plasma technology significantly reduces the risk of infection
Sterex plasma technology protects people wherever they live and work – whether in schools, offices, or care facilities.
A >groundbreaking clinical study by the Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg has confirmed this for the first time worldwide:
- Without Sterex, respiratory infections are 45 percent more likely (odds ratio: 1.45)
- With Sterex, there is an 8.6% lower frequency of upper respiratory tract infections
- With Sterex, symptoms are significantly milder

F.A.Q.
The air disinfection unit can be placed on a table in the room or on the ceiling or a wall. The ideal installation height is approx. 1 to 2.5 meters to installation level (base edge of unit). The placement within the room is of secondary importance, but we recommend positioning the device in the middle of the room to be purified – provided that the necessary safety distance of 1 m to the Cubusan can be guaranteed.
Due to the flow and diffusion of the plasma in the air, it takes around 15 minutes for the hydroxyl radicals to be evenly distributed – provided that the Cubusan air purifier is in a room of no more than 120 m³. However, the unit should always be activated one hour before multiple people enter the room.
Yes, but for rooms with high ceilings the cubic volume of the room is decisive for calculating the required number of air purifiers – for example, for the Cubusan CP-120: Room volume/120 m³ = required number of Cubusan CP-120. For large rooms with high ceilings and ventilation systems, the situation must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. In these cases, it is essential to contact the Area Sales Manager.
No. The emitted hydroxyl radicals have no effects on people, animals, or plants. Exposure is therefore harmless. Cold atmospheric plasma, such as that produced by the Cubusan, has also been used, for example, in medical wound treatment for several years now.
No, the Cubusan air purifier should be regarded as an addition to an existing hygiene concept. All valid national government guidelines and provisions on the topic of hygiene should naturally continue to be observed. This includes sneezing hygiene, regular hand washing, distancing, ventilation, and so on.
Yes, viruses are neutralized by hydroxyl radicals regardless of mutation.
The efficiency of up to 99.9 percent can only be achieved with a room temperature of 18-24 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 30-60 percent. A minimum humidity of 10 percent is required for hydroxyl radicals to be formed in sufficient numbers. A room volume of maximum 70 m³ should not be exceeded for commissioning a Cubusan CP-70. For the use of a Cubusan CP-120, the room volume should be no more than 120 m³.
With its Sterex plasma technology, the Cubusan air purifier is effective against viruses and bacteria as well as molds and pollen, making it a very useful instrument for improving quality of life, including for allergy sufferers.
No, however, after 25,000 hours of operation the unit must be inspected, as the plasma source may have become contaminated and must be professionally cleaned. With daily 24-hour continuous operation, this corresponds to a running time of just under 3 years or, when used during normal office hours, a usage of approx. 7 years.
If the device is used differently than prescribed, for example in rooms with heavy soiling, insect infestation, excessive humidity, or very high dust loads, the device must be checked continuously for plasma performance.
